Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown cleared the air on the cryptic tweet that he posted following the teamās Week 4 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which ultimately led fans and others to think he was unhappy with the franchise.
āIf youāre not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Donāt make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way,ā is what Brown had initially posted after he hauled in two passes for seven yards in the Eaglesā 31-25 win.
On Wednesday after practice, Brown didnāt even wait for reporters to ask a question. Instead, he opened with a statement.
āFirst of all, I want to start off by saying obviously Sunday after the game, I let my frustrations boil over,ā he said. āI didnāt speak to the media. I had a chance to correct my frustrations and I continued to let it boil over. Thatās on me. I take full accountability on that. My message on Twitter was not directed at anyone in the building, not my coaches, not my quarterback, my GM, nobody. I take full accountability. I have open communication will all my coaches and with my quarterback as well. Me and my coaches, KP (Kevin Patullo) and Nick (Sirianni), we discuss weekly about trying to get on the same page.ā
Stop with the Trade Talk, A.J. Brown Isnāt Going Anywhere
The Eagles are winning, sure. But if weāre being honest, they havenāt been playing like a team that just won the Super Bowl, which is what Brown has been so upset about.
āI think itās normal to have frustrations because of the standard we hold ourselves to,ā he said. āWe have a lot of talent on offense and, to be honest, defense and special teams have been low-key carrying us.ā
Finally, Brown was asked if Philly was where he still wanted to be, and he answered without any hesitation.
āAbsolutely. This is home,ā he said. āThis is my home. Unfortunately, I did it to myself. I wouldnāt even say unfortunately. I did it to myself. But this is my home. I love it here. But you just see frustration because, obviously, we want to be great. Most definitely. I want to be great as well.ā
