Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown cleared the air on the cryptic tweet that he posted following the team’s Week 4 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which ultimately led fans and others to think he was unhappy with the franchise.

“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way,” is what Brown had initially posted after he hauled in two passes for seven yards in the Eagles’ 31-25 win.

On Wednesday after practice, Brown didn’t even wait for reporters to ask a question. Instead, he opened with a statement.

“First of all, I want to start off by saying obviously Sunday after the game, I let my frustrations boil over,” he said. “I didn’t speak to the media. I had a chance to correct my frustrations and I continued to let it boil over. That’s on me. I take full accountability on that. My message on Twitter was not directed at anyone in the building, not my coaches, not my quarterback, my GM, nobody. I take full accountability. I have open communication will all my coaches and with my quarterback as well. Me and my coaches, KP (Kevin Patullo) and Nick (Sirianni), we discuss weekly about trying to get on the same page.”

Stop with the Trade Talk, A.J. Brown Isn’t Going Anywhere

The Eagles are winning, sure. But if we’re being honest, they haven’t been playing like a team that just won the Super Bowl, which is what Brown has been so upset about.

“I think it’s normal to have frustrations because of the standard we hold ourselves to,” he said. “We have a lot of talent on offense and, to be honest, defense and special teams have been low-key carrying us.”

Finally, Brown was asked if Philly was where he still wanted to be, and he answered without any hesitation.

“Absolutely. This is home,” he said. “This is my home. Unfortunately, I did it to myself. I wouldn’t even say unfortunately. I did it to myself. But this is my home. I love it here. But you just see frustration because, obviously, we want to be great. Most definitely. I want to be great as well.”
