NXT Danica Patrick Criticizes Jimmy Kimmel Following His ABC Return, Warns Time Is Running Out

Former IndyCar star Danica Patrick has sent a sharp warning to Jimmy Kimmel after ABC reinstated his late-night show following a suspension over comments about conservativesâ reaction to Charlie Kirkâs assassination.
Kimmel had been off the air since last Wednesday after saying on his show that the âMAGA gangâ was trying to portray Kirkâs accused killer, Tyler Robinson, âas anything other than one of themâ and to use the tragedy for political points

Disney, ABCâs parent company, called the remarks âill-timed and thus insensitive.â Still, the network confirmed Kimmel would return to his post, a move that has already sparked backlash from Trump supporters.
Danicaâs Response
Patrick, 43, who has become increasingly vocal in her support for Donald Trump, took to Instagram to address Kimmelâs reinstatement.
âTotally fine,â she wrote. âAn employer has a choice to hire and fire and run a business. I donât think he is as funny as he used to be, but that little problem will take care of itself in time.âDanica Patrickâs initial reaction to Kimmelâs suspension (Instagram)
Patrick didnât hold back, adding: âHe will either start making real jokes and not stupid distasteful emotional jabs or he wonât⊠All that is ever at play is money. And you better believe if itâs not flowing, something goes. Clock is ticking again.â
She also noted that during her own racing career, she avoided political commentary: âWhen I raced I never talked about politics and religion. I understood the unspoken agreement to be PC.â
Kimmelâs Controversial Comments
On his show, Kimmel acknowledged national mourning over Kirkâs death, including President Trumpâs order to lower flags to half-staff, but then mocked Trumpâs response. The backlash was swift, with critics accusing the host of crossing a line as the conservative movement mourned one of its rising stars.
Patrickâs Political Shift
Patrick has only recently stepped into politics, admitting last year she had never voted before. But in October she announced she was casting her first ballot for Trump, praising him as a businessman who âgets stuff done.â
She initially endorsed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but after he withdrew to join Trumpâs ticket, she threw her support fully behind Trumpâs bid to return to the White House.
Whatâs Next for Kimmel?
As Kimmel resumes his role, questions remain about how long ABC will stand by him if ratings or advertiser pressure falter. For Patrick, the answer is simple: âClock is ticking.â
