Bom.Bad Bunny to Headline Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show: “This Is for My People, My Culture, and Our History”
In a groundbreaking announcement during halftime of Sunday Night Football, Apple Music revealed that global superstar Bad Bunny will headline the Super Bowl 60 halftime show, marking a historic moment for Latin music and representation on one of the world’s biggest stages.

The Puerto Rican artist — whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — continues to redefine the global music landscape. Ranked as Spotify’s third-most-played artist of 2024, Bad Bunny has become a symbol of cultural pride and creative dominance. Dubbed the “King of Latin Trap,” his distinctive sound has made Spanish-language music a permanent fixture in mainstream pop.
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in a statement following the announcement. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown. This is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
His latest album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” (“I Should Have Taken More Photos”), debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year and topped the U.S. streaming charts. The album’s release solidified his place among the most influential artists of the decade — blending Latin rhythms, trap beats, and emotionally raw storytelling.

Beyond the studio, Bad Bunny’s impact on Puerto Rico has been monumental. His 30-show residency in San Juan earlier this year not only thrilled fans but also boosted tourism on the island during hurricane season.
“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” said Roc Nation CEO Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, whose company helps produce the halftime show. “We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Bad Bunny’s career has also extended far beyond music. He’s wrestled at WWE’s WrestleMania (2021), hosted “Saturday Night Live” (2023), and recently appeared in the film “Caught Stealing.” His ability to transcend genres — from reggaetón to acting to sports entertainment — has made him one of the most versatile artists of his generation.
Super Bowl 60 will take place on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers. The broadcast will air on NBC and stream on Peacock.

The previous halftime show, headlined by Kendrick Lamar, made history as the most-watched performance of all time with 133.5 million viewers. With Bad Bunny now taking the stage, expectations are sky-high.
For many, his upcoming performance isn’t just another halftime show — it’s a celebration of cultural evolution, unity, and the power of music to break boundaries.
As one fan put it on social media shortly after the announcement:
“From Puerto Rico to the Super Bowl. This isn’t just history — it’s legacy.”
