The Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) announced the tragedy on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that a man had succumbed to gunshot wounds after being attacked on the side of the Periférico Ring Road. Hours later, officials identified the victim as Dorcaz in statements to TV Azteca, CNN Español, and El Universal.
The Attack
According to the SSC, preliminary reports indicate that two individuals riding motorcycles carried out the shooting before fleeing the scene. Investigators are now reviewing surveillance footage to identify the assailants.
“The Public Prosecutor’s Office has been notified for corresponding forensic services and joint investigations,” the SSC said in a translated statement, adding that a full criminal investigation is underway.
TMZ later reported that Dorcaz had left dance rehearsals and was driving home when the attack occurred. The outlet cited sources claiming the incident may have been an attempted robbery, and that Dorcaz was shot in the neck and died at the scene.
