4t Bad Bunny has ignited a firestorm of controversy after he appeared to remain seated during the singing of “God Bless America” at a New York Yankees playoff game, sparking fierce debates over patriotism, respect, and cultural expression just weeks before his headline performance at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show.
Bad Bunny has once again found himself at the center of controversy. Last week, the Puerto Rican superstar was named as the Super Bowl halftime show, which angered many considering he has repeatedly criticized President Trump over his immigration policies.
Trump advisor Corey Lewandowski immediately came out to bash the NFL for choosing Bad Bunny to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.
“It’s so shameful they’ve decided to pick somebody who seems to hate America so much to represent them at the Halftime Show… If there are illegal aliens, I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else. We’re going to do enforcement everywhere. We are going to make Americans safe. That is a directive from the president. If you’re in this country illegally, go home.”
President Trump has also spoken out against the NFL’s selection.
“I don’t know who he is, I don’t know why they’re doing it — it’s, like, crazy,” Trump said. “They blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
On Tuesday, Bad Bunny caused another firestorm when he refused to stand during God Bless America during the Yankees-Blue Jays playoff game.

Bad Bunny raised eyebrows at the New York Yankees game Tuesday night … choosing not to stand during the singing of “God Bless America.”
Some fans on social media were furious with Bad Bunny for not standing during God Bless America.
“Hey, Bad Bunny. stand your a– up during God Bless America!” commented one fan.
“This is the guy NFL picked for the halftime show for superbowl unreal! So ridiculous and disrespectful. I want everyone at the superbowl to boo him out the stadium.” said another fan.
Some didn’t see the whole thing as a big deal.
“It’s not the national anthem before the game where everyone is expected to stand it’s the 7th inning song and although most people want to it’s not something you have to stand up for you can just enjoy your time with your friends. this isn’t really a valid argument” argued another fan.
It seems like fans are going to be divided by Bad Bunny’s pick from now until the Super Bowl.

More video of the Mark Sanchez situation has been released.

Video shows the two appear to have an interaction back at the driver’s side door after Sanchez follows the man, who is seen walking backwards away from him. Sanchez is seen running after (the man) and the video shows Mr. Sanchez grabbing and throwing (the man) towards the wall of the Westin,” police wrote in the affidavit.
Mr. Sanchez is then seen throwing (the man) to the ground on the west side of the alley,” investigators wrote. The man told police he reached into his pocket and pulled out pepper spray and sprayed Sanchez, but the former NFL quarterback just wiped it away. The man thought, “This guy is trying to kill me,” so he pulled out his knife, and when Sanchez came at him, the man struck him two or three times with the knife, he told police.
Since then a video of Sanchez walking around with a stab wound was released by the NY Post.
On Friday, TMZ released a new video showing Sanchez stumbling around downtown Indianapolis before the altercation took place.
