BTS Tops List of Most Anticipated Artists of 2025, Signaling Their Unshakable Influence
BTS has been ranked as the most anticipated artist of 2025, receiving five votes in a recent survey conducted by News1 with 34 experts from leading music companies—further demonstrating the group’s undeniable influence on the industry.

The group’s temporary hiatus due to mandatory military service has done little to diminish their popularity. Members began enlisting sequentially, starting with Jin in December 2022, followed by J-Hope in April 2023, Suga in September 2023, and RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook in December 2023. Despite the pause in group activities, their solo endeavors continued to thrive. Jungkook’s single “Seven (feat. Latto)” topped the Billboard Hot 100, while his album Golden debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200—reinforcing BTS’s global standing.
As members gradually complete their service, anticipation for the group’s full return in 2025 continues to grow. Jin was discharged in June 2024, followed by J-Hope in October 2024, while the remaining five members are scheduled to be discharged in June 2025.

One music industry expert who voted for BTS commented, “Their return as a complete group in 2025 is highly anticipated, and I’m very much looking forward to their upcoming activities.” Another noted, “By June 2025, all BTS members will have completed their military duties. Even during their hiatus, they maintained dominance in K-pop, which makes their comeback all the more exciting.” This expert also emphasized the group’s powerful impact, stating, “News of BTS’s return alone has already caused HYBE’s stock prices to soar and reshaped the outlook of the K-pop industry.”
Currently, Jin and J-Hope have completed their service. Jin was discharged on June 12, 2024, and soon after released his solo album HAPPY and made appearances on variety shows. J-Hope, discharged on October 17, 2024, also returned to public activities, including attending the 2024 KBO Korean Series and appearing on the show I Live Alone.
The remaining five members are expected to be discharged in June 2025—RM and V on June 10, Jimin and Jungkook on June 11, and Suga on June 21, after completing his alternative service as a public service worker.
BTS’s last group album before enlistment, Proof, was released in June 2022. Since then, the members have pursued successful solo careers. Jimin and Jungkook topped the Billboard Hot 100 with “Like Crazy” and “Seven,” respectively, while Suga’s solo album reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. J-Hope made history as the first K-pop act to headline Lollapalooza. Despite their military commitments, BTS continued engaging fans with pre-produced content and album releases.
While the group’s return is highly anticipated, several challenges remain. In September 2024, Suga faced public backlash after a DUI incident. Although he received a legal penalty, some fans have called for his removal from the group.
Despite the controversy, BTS members have expressed strong enthusiasm for their reunion. At the 2024 MAMA Awards, Jimin hinted at the group’s future, stating, “I’m so excited thinking about the songs and performances we’ll share after we return. Please look forward to a stronger, better BTS.”
As BTS nears the end of their military service, fan anticipation is at an all-time high. Careful planning and thoughtful handling of current issues will be crucial in ensuring their return lives up to expectations. While their comeback has the potential to reshape the K-pop landscape, its success will depend on how well they overcome challenges and seize the opportunities ahead.
