The Kansas City Chiefs are in prime time on Monday, October 6, and they’ll take on the Jacksonville Jaguars under the big lights. Whenever the Chiefs show up to Monday Night Football, they do so in style, and this game is no exception.
The Chiefs are 2-2 heading into Monday’s showdown, so this game is a crucial one. They started the season 0-2 for the first time in history with Patrick Mahomes as their quarterback, so it was a sad start to the season, but since then, they’ve been unstoppable. The team is coming off a 37-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens, one of their arch rivals, so they have momentum on their side.

The Jaguars actually have a better record than the Chiefs right now at 3-1. But, Kansas City is still a 3.5-point road favorite, with the over/under for total points scored at 45.5. Now, the team is officially in the Sunshine State, and Mahomes is looking pretty rocking.
Ahead of the game, the Chiefs took to their official social feeds to share images of the team arriving in Florida. On Sunday, October 5, the team shared a gallery of photos of Mahomes in a red checkered suit, looking very snazzy, and announced that he’s officially on the ground, in Florida. The suit’s red color, of course, pays tribute to Kansas City, and his No. 15 is also inscribed inside.

The Chiefs also announced that during last Sunday’s Ravens game, Mahomes got his 250th career touchdown pass. It also marked his 108th win, including in the postseason, and broke a tie with Russell Wilson for the most wins ever by a starting quarterback in his first nine seasons.
“The details,” the team simply shared with some emojis on the gallery.
Followers on X were quick to comment. “I love this outfit,” one said on X with a bunch of heart emojis. “Love it. Great suit for a great guy,” another stated.
Jacksonville just wrapped up a win at home over the Houston Texans and then a major victory over the San Francisco 49ers, so they’re worth opponents. While the Jags don’t have the reputation for wins that the Chiefs do, this year is different, and they’re showing that they could really be a contender. So, this is the kind of game that could quickly become an upset if the Chiefs don’t take it seriously.

In ESPN’s Week 5 predictions, the team at ESPN notes that Jaguars star Travis Etienne Jr. will likely be the best and toughest running back they’ve faced so far this season.
“One of the things being stressed to the defensive players this week: Don’t get discouraged,” Michael DiRocco of ESPN states of the Jags’ perspective. “QB Patrick Mahomes is an escape artist who can turn a bad play into a huge gain with an off-schedule throw from a weird arm angle. It’s going to happen at least once, but the key is to forget about it immediately when it does.”
DiRocco adds that coach Liam Coen said, “We’ve just got to go and huddle up, call the next play, refocus and understand that they’ve got good players, too, and they’re going to make some [big plays].”
Monday night games are always packed with drama and excitement. This one should certainly carry that vibe.
