LS ‘Photographer Captures Mum’s Wildest Birth — Baby Born on Hospital Floor!’ LS

Dramatic Moment Mum-Of-Six Gives Birth In Hospital Corridor And Screams At Husband To ‘Catch Him’

Jesica Hogan, from Riley, Kansas, gave birth to her only son, Max, last July after five daughters. The whirlwind delivery at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan was captured by birth photographer Tammy Karin, who happened to be present for the extraordinary moment.

Jesica had experienced several days of contractions without going into labor and even tried to reassure herself she could rest for a while. “That little voice in the back of my head kept warning me,” she later admitted, “but I pushed it aside and thought I could sleep a bit.”

That night, her waters suddenly broke and contractions intensified. She and her husband, Travis, rushed out the door so quickly that she didn’t even manage to put on shoes. By the time they reached the hospital, Jesica could already feel the baby on his way.

“I told Travis I couldn’t get out of the car—I felt like the baby was ready to come,” she recalled. He guided her through the ER entrance between contractions, but only seconds later, Jesica realized she wouldn’t make it to a delivery room.

Just inside the hallway, she began pulling off her pants as her body started pushing on its own. “I reached down and could feel his head. I looked at my husband and yelled, ‘Travis, catch him!’” she said. Without hesitation, Travis caught their son as Jesica delivered him right there on the floor.

Nurses quickly rushed over, helping her settle and supporting the final push that brought Max into the world at 3:38 a.m.—less than half an hour after her water broke at home.

Though Jesica was left “pretty bruised” from the lightning-fast labor, both she and Max were healthy. The couple later shared touching photos of the newborn surrounded by his five big sisters.

Reflecting on the unforgettable experience, Jesica said: “It was my wildest birth, but also the most perfect. Nothing went according to plan, but it ended with a healthy baby and so much love around us. I’ll cherish it forever.”
