The Philadelphia Eagles suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Denver Broncos this past Sunday. The Eagles are looking to get things back on track, but are looking at a short week to get recalibrated, as they’re set to face the New York Giants on Thursday.
Now, the Eagles’ crunch has been made even more complicated, as one of their star players is looking at missing significant time.
“Of the three #Eagles who were an estimated “DNP” on Monday’s injury report, RB Saquon Barkley (knee) is expected to be ready for Thursday’s game vs. the Giants, per NFL source. Sounds like G Landon Dickerson (ankle) could miss the next 1-2 games. TE Grant Calcaterra (oblique) is also unlikely to be ready in two days, ” reported Jeff McLane on Tuesday morning.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“He needed to sit and heal up before this. Glad this injury forced him to sit. Wouldn’t expect him until after the bye. Sweep the Giants and get to the bye 7-2 and we’ll be in good shape with Nolan smith and Dickerson coming back for packers and Lions,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Now watch their offense be better just off of Grant not being given crucial blocking responsibilities, and then watch him go back to the same playing time when healthy,” someone else added.
“Sit Dickerson until after the bye. I know he is a dawg and feels like he needs to be out there for his teammates but he is a liability,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see when Dickerson can return to the field.
