SHB Offset opened up about his deep regret over his divorce from Cardi B, admitting that he failed to truly value and respect her. He candidly acknowledged that his poor choices — especially stepping out on the marriage multiple times — led to their downfall. “I hurt her, and I hurt my family. I got caught up in the fame, in my ego, and I forgot about the woman who stood by me through everything.”

For the first time since his highly publicized split from Cardi B, rapper Offset is speaking candidly about the pain, regret, and lessons that followed the end of one of hip-hop’s most talked-about relationships. In a recent interview, the 33-year-old artist revealed that the divorce forced him to face some difficult truths about himself — and about what truly matters.
“I made a lot of bad decisions,” Offset confessed, his tone heavy with remorse. “I stepped out on my marriage more times than I want to admit. I hurt her, and I hurt my family. Looking back, I realize how selfish I was. I was chasing my own wants, my own ego, without thinking about the woman who held me down or the kids we brought into this world together.”
The couple, who share two children, had long been a symbol of hip-hop love — fiery, passionate, and complicated. Fans watched their highs and lows unfold publicly, from Offset’s grand onstage apology at a Cardi B concert to the couple’s playful social media posts that suggested reconciliation. But behind the scenes, Offset admits, things were unraveling.
“When you’re in the spotlight, it’s easy to lose sight of what’s real,” he said. “There’s temptation everywhere, and if you don’t know who you are, you can fall into bad patterns. I was living fast, trying to be the man everyone wanted me to be — the rapper, the celebrity — and I forgot to be a husband.”
Offset paused for a long moment before continuing. “I can’t lie — Cardi didn’t deserve what I put her through. She’s a strong woman, she’s loyal, and she always kept it real with me. I should’ve shown her way more respect. That’s something I’ll always carry with me.”
When news surfaced that Cardi had moved on and was seen spending time with Stefon, Offset says that was when everything hit him. “I thought I was fine, that I could move on too,” he admitted. “But when I saw her smiling, saw her happy, it hit me hard. That’s when I realized — I needed her more than I ever knew. I lost the most valuable thing in my life.”
He described the moment as “a punch to the gut,” a realization that fame, success, and money meant nothing compared to the family he had broken. “You can buy anything in this world — cars, jewelry, houses — but you can’t buy peace,” he said quietly. “And you can’t buy love. I had both, and I let them slip away because I was too blind to see their worth.”
Despite the pain, Offset says he’s using the experience to grow. “I can’t change the past, but I can be better moving forward,” he said. “I want my kids to see a father who’s present, who’s honest, who takes responsibility. I want them to know that their dad made mistakes, but he learned from them.”
Offset made it clear he’s not asking Cardi for reconciliation — at least not now. “I’m not saying I expect her to come back,” he said. “She deserves to be happy, no matter what that looks like. I just want her to know that I’m truly sorry. I’ll always love her, and I’ll always respect her as the mother of my children.”
Reflecting on his journey, Offset admits that the breakup has humbled him in ways he never imagined. “It’s easy to talk about loyalty and love in your music,” he said with a small smile, “but living it — that’s where it counts. I had to lose something real to understand that.”
As he continues to focus on his solo career and his family, Offset says his biggest goal now isn’t another hit record — it’s redemption. “I want to look back one day and know I became a better man because of this,” he said. “I can’t change what happened, but I can make sure I never make the same mistakes again.”
In the end, Offset’s message is clear: fame fades, but love — and regret — last far longer. “You don’t realize how much someone means to you until they’re gone,” he said softly. “Cardi will always have a place in my heart. I just hope she knows that.”
