🚨 Missouri Shocker: Son Murders Mother with Gardening Tool Over Inheritance Dispute.A Missouri man has been arrested after allegedly killing his own mother with a gardening tool during a heated dispute over inheritance.According to court documents, Derrick Alling, 39, is facing charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action following the death of his mother, Carolyn Alling, 65.The incident occurred on the evening of September 25 in Ozark. Christian County deputies were called after Carolyn’s husband — Derrick’s stepfather — requested a welfare check when she failed to answer her phone.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with Derrick, whose inconsistent statements quickly raised suspicion. Sheriff Brad Cole later said:
“They just had a gut feeling something wasn’t right — and unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be true.”When asked if his mother was still alive, Derrick reportedly responded that “he didn’t think so.” Soon after, deputies discovered Carolyn’s body in a guesthouse on the property. Authorities say she had been brutally beaten with a gardening tool.
Investigators revealed that Derrick had repeatedly threatened his mother and demanded his inheritance prior to the killing. Court documents also state that Carolyn had been recording her son’s violent outbursts in the weeks leading up to her death.Derrick Alling is currently being held without bond and has pleaded not guilty in court.
