NXT ‘Sunny is safe!’ 93-year-old man reunited with beloved dog after nearly two weeks

A heartwarming update to a story that touched hearts across Southern California — Sunny, the missing Labrador belonging to 93-year-old Norman Feigenbaum, has been found safe.

Dog Days Search & Rescue announced Friday morning that the 7-year-old yellow Lab was captured near the Chatsworth Reservoir and reunited with Feigenbaum after a nearly two-week-long “adventure.”

“OMG! Sunny is SAFE!” the nonprofit wrote in a social media post announcing the reunion. “We just trapped and reunited her with 93-year-old Norm after 13 days! She has a few cuts and is exhausted after her long adventure but she will be fine!”

A photo shared by the rescue team shows the emotional moment Feigenbaum and Sunny were reunited — with the pair embracing after a difficult 13-day search that drew community support across the West Hills and Chatsworth area.

Dog Days Search & Rescue, a Southern California nonprofit that specializes in finding lost pets, said additional footage of the reunion will be released soon.

Sunny first went missing earlier this month after escaping through a fence in the backyard of Feigenbaum’s West Hills home. The story of their separation — and the community’s effort to find her — spread quickly online.

Dog Days Search & Rescue thanked the volunteers and neighbors who shared updates, checked cameras and reported sightings during the search.

“She’s a loving, sweet, fine dog — and I’ve got to find her,” Feigenbaum told KTLA days before she was found. Now, he finally has.
