n the heart of Lahore’s Chahdara town, a dog became the center of attention when locals mistakenly assumed she was pregnant.
It wasn’t until veterinarians examined video footage of the dog that they uncovered a much more serious health issue requiring immediate attention.
The dog’s abdomen had become significantly swollen, a condition suspected to be caused by fluid buildup due to liver or kidney failure.
This required urgent tests to pinpoint the exact cause, as her health was rapidly declining. Medical assessments, including x-rays, blood tests, and fluid analysis, were swiftly carried out by the rescue team, who eagerly awaited the results.
In order to relieve her discomfort, veterinary staff began to drain the excess fluid from her abdomen. In total, around 10 liters were removed, unveiling the dog’s starkly visible bones, which highlighted the degree of her suffering.
Remarkably, once the procedure was completed, the dog, now visibly more comfortable, dozed off, experiencing a respite from the torment she had endured for so long.
One of the veterinarians, observing her subsequent progress, reported, “I’ll stay here at the clinic with her.” The vet promised to provide ongoing updates on her recovery.
Affectionately named Fufy by her caregivers, the dog’s path to recovery is now promising. She has started to exhibit more playful behavior and is forming new friendships, slowly shedding the hardships of her previous street life.
Fufy’s reawakening to joy and playfulness symbolizes the happiness she deserves after her ordeal. Heartfelt gratitude extends to all those who supported her journey to recovery, united in their compassion and care.
