A 42-year-old mother who refused to terminate one of her triplets has given birth to three healthy babies, despite doctors warning that her decision could put their lives at risk.

After enduring years of failed fertility treatments, the couple took out a $30,000 (£23,000) loan to fund one final round of IVF. They transferred two embryos to increase their chances of success and were overjoyed when initial scans showed Christy was pregnant with twins.

However, at their 12-week ultrasound, doctors discovered a third “hidden” baby. Instead of joy, the couple faced an impossible choice: terminate one of the babies or risk losing two.

Refusing to terminate, Christy gave birth to Rockwell and identical twins Cali and Elli, whom she lovingly calls her “little miracles.”
