dq. HOT NEWS: Patrick Mahomes Faces Public Criticism from Lions Player After Tense NFL Clash!

Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes drops the mic on Lions after postgame scuffle - Yahoo Sports

After the clock ran out, Lions player Brian Branch appeared to snub Mahomes and take a slap on Chiefs player Juju Smith-Schuster. Mahomes made his thoughts on it clear, telling the press after the game, “We play the game in between the whistles. They can do all the extracurricular stuff they want to do, but we play the game in between the whistles. And we thought we played a great game today, and we’ll keep this momentum moving forward.” Branch has already been suspended one game, but now, there’s another Lions player stirring up some drama.

Now, during the game, the Chiefs had no flags called, which is pretty wild. Even those who support the Chiefs have to admit that it’s a bit, well, much. But, this is the NFL, and the Chiefs played a pretty clean game. Maybe not that clean, but still clean.

But, the lack of calls on Kansas City frustrated some Lions, and it’s understandable. Following the game, one Lions player took to social media to blow off some steam about what happened during the game.

Chiefs news: Patrick Mahomes will be thrilled with Lions' final injury report

Kerby Joseph of the Lions took to social media after the game, and this post from his X account has a reaction image that indicated he wasn’t too how this almost incompletion from Travis Kelce was still ruled a catch. In a separate post on X, he reacts to Kelce not getting called for what appeared to be a hold as Kansas City moved to make a first down.

Joseph also went directly at Mahomes, sharing a photo of Mahomes during the game chatting with a ref and looking very friendly. He captioned the photo, “take me thru there” in all caps. Joseph, of course, was making a reference about Mahomes being too cozy with the refs and perhaps influencing their calls. So, Joseph isn’t a happy camper, but he did end his line of posts on X by stating that he’s “cool” and that he hasn’t peaked yet.

Mahomes made history during the Sunday’s game. With his six-yard pass to Chiefs star Xavier Worthy, Mahomes became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 300 career touchdown passes, including the postseason. Mahomes hit that 300 touchdown milestone in 139 games, breaking the record that was previously held by a player you might recognize named Aaron Rodgers.

So, NFL players can bicker among each other and post on socials, and that’s really the norm. But, it says something good that Mahomes continues to make NFL history game after game.
