TRUMANN, Ark. (KAIT/Gray News) – Authorities in Arkansas arrested a woman after they said she tried to lure two children to the home of a registered sex offender.

According to a community safety alert, Trumann Police received a complaint from a resident about a suspicious encounter involving her children on Tuesday.

The person who made the complaint told police that both of her children were playing outside when a woman came up to them.

A release from police said the woman attempted to lure the kids to a house a few doors down that they said is the home of a registered sex offender.

The interaction was caught on the mother’s home surveillance camera.

Police said they identified the woman as 49-year-old Tracy Lynn Washburn, located her and arrested her on stalking charges.

Washburn was then taken to the Poinsett County Detention Center.

Washburn appeared at a probable cause hearing on Wednesday for the stalking charges. Officials said she was also wanted for several other outstanding charges.

A judge ordered her to have no contact with the victims.

Police say Washburn drives a maroon Kia Sedona.

Officials urge parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
