3S. Steelers sign preseason standout WR to replace Calvin Austin III vs. Browns in Week 6

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for life without Calvin Austin III — at least for Week 6 — as practice squad wide receiver Ke’Shawn Williams has been signed to the active roster.
Ahead of the AFC North divisional matchup against the Cleveland Browns, the Steelers signed Williams to their active roster on Saturday — adding him to a game-day wide receiver room containing DK Metcalf, Scotty Miller, Roman Wilson, and Ben Skowronek. Additionally, Pittsburgh also signed KJ Henry to the practice squad.
Signing with Pittsburgh as an undrafted rookie following the 2025 NFL Draft, he led the Steelers’ offense with 55 receiving yards in the preseason opener, as well as catching a touchdown pass and returning punts on special teams. Williams was waived in August as part of final roster cuts, only to rejoin the Steelers’ practice squad soon after.
